COMPANY PROFILE

ELPMIS Consultancy was started in 1999 to provide a problem-based learning experience to the students of Singapore schools.

ELPMIS is the first to introduce multi-disciplinary robotics courses to Singapore schools. ELPMIS provides a complete range of robotics courses from beginner to competition level.

All of our courses are learner-centered. Students are required to apply their newly gained knowledge to solve challenges posed by our instructors.

Besides robotics courses, ELPMIS also provides software courses and programming training, mostly to provide a holistic experience in learning robotics.

In 2006, Elpmis International Pte Ltd was incorporated to support the expanding business.

OUR COMPANY NAME

Spell ELPMIS backwards to know the word. It also means we always try to be simple. We make high technology simple to understand.

Client testimonial
After our training for her students completed conclusively...
"Mr Yap is a dedicated trainer who goes out of his way to help the school and students whenever he can. He seems to work nonstop, even on weekends to ensure the students do not lose out on anything. The boys are indeed indebted to you for your guidance...",
Educator, Mdm Goi.

OUR LOGO

Elpmis Logo
It is a robot's head. We will love to see an ElpmisBot built one day with this logo as the head. 'Simply Simple' is also within the logo to remind us of Our Credo to provide Simply Simple Robotics Training.

Words that inspire:

How our company name, Elpmis, came about?

Our founders fully agreed back in 1998 that we should make knowledge simple to understand.

Simple was the most important word to us, it still is. We went to the registry of company back then to verify that we can call ourselves SIMPLE Consultancy. Much to our surprise, there are many companies that start with the word simple already. Search for 'simple' in http://www.acra.gov.sg/general/directory.html if you would like to see for yourself. The last check showed 100+ companies using that already.

Unwilling to give up on our agreed word, Mr. Kang's wife, who happened to be with him that day, brainstormed with him, considered many different words of the same meaning, played with the letters, and she finally struck the reverse of 'simple', i.e. 'elpmis'. In some dialects, it can be read as 'buai kan dan', meaning it was not simple to come up with that name.

Looking up 'elpmis' in the system showed that it was unique, it still is!

The name was simply registered, and it has reminded us all these years to try our best , even when things are not so simple.

Thus 'Elpmis' was born, 1998. Business started coming in 1999, and we have been providing Simply Simple solutions ever since. Come 2005, we decided to stick with our best skills, Robotics Training, so we are now focused on our Credo, providing Simply Simple Robotics Training.

In 2009, January, a new Director was appointed to continue growing the ELPMIS culture. Mr. David M. Moh, who's been working with ELPMIS since 2005, played a key role in the developments within ELPMIS. Now, trusted to fill in the large shoes that Mr. Kang has left, Mr. Moh will seek to build on the foundations that have been laid down by Mr. Kang.
